At BP Oil International our analyst was involved as below:
Scripting and Repackaging Front & Back End (Market Data) Applications using Wise Studio Packages; (Murex, XLCubed, Business Obj, Zainet, and other Middlewares.)
Experienced using WISE MSI & Ghost Image Builders, packagers.
Install software, using supplied installation instructions and tools,
following agreed standards.
Control the software packaging and distributed authorized applications.
Conducted tests on MSI and the affected using company test procedures and diagnostic tools.
Corrects packaging or distribution errors, utilising other colleagues
and ext. resources if required.
Documents packaging and software distribution results in accordance with agreed procedures.
Assist in resolving faults (e.g. system failure) occurring in the
operation of software -especially those requiring greater expertise.
Provided Technical expertise / advice to the DB Teams in IST offices globally.
Tests globally used Releases/Builds/Updates, & populate the Quality Assured Published Scripts to the COE delivery System bases via the web, etc.
Maintain the environment releases and improve exiting delivery
methodologies where appropriate
Prepare Customized IST COE build images masters and replicate to BP Global Ghost Servers.
Liaise with 3rd parties regarding hardware issues, give best practice guidance and advise to various project teams on how best to implement new systems, assess new software and hardware to determine its benefits and impact to BP systems.
Prepare Installation Guides and incorporate it to the repackaged
items for further referencing by the Team.
Liaise with 3rd Party to deliver repackaged software to the
publishing database using Sherlock, SMS and Altiris client Delivery End, Co-ordinate Site Service Released Builds Activities from Testing builds to Desktop End User Implementation.
Provide 3rd line knowledge-support on Front & Back End issues to
various IST Support Teams
Provide technical knowledge base to Desktop Team and IST users on Microsoft Related issues and other 3rd party concerns (e.g. Windows NT/2000/XP, Oracle, etc)
Provide direct support to IST users (where necessary) on issues
relating to scripted Trading Businesses Programs in London (Oil, Gas, Power & Finance)
Provide technical solutions to the DB and Project Teams in London IST offices, and global.
Also day-to-day responsibilities working closely along side the other members of the COE NT Team to deal with service operations issues rising from NT and 2000 Servers and Systems.
